Children learn building blocks of relationships with Legos

The Dawn Church’s Pastor Brad Odom demonstrates the Lego Blow Maze. The idea was to send a pompom from one end of the maze to the other using only a straw to blow the fuzzy ball.

Everything was awesome, Sunday morning, with The Dawn Church’s “Lego Have Fun” family experience at East Milton Elementary. Inside the school and out, children and parents played mostly Lego-themed games while learning about building relationships. The participants not only had the entertainment but lunch as well, and each child received a school backpack.

Pastors Brad and Keri Odom have been at The Dawn, formerly East Milton Assembly of God, for 4 years. Their focus is on the East Milton community and local missions, according to Keri Odom. She said the event was in the works for a couple months. The planning team, she said, looked up games online fitting the themes of following a plan and dealing with the unexpected.

According to Keri Odom, the church’s motto is “We can't do it all, but we can do something." Starting this Sunday, The Dawn Church will be hosting two Sunday services at  9 and 10:45 a.m.
