Staff Sgt. Michael Fuqua, USMC, was promoted to Gunnery Sgt. Tuesday, July 7 at the Naval Air Station Whiting Field headquarters building. Fuqua, a Milton native, currently works for the 6th District Recruiting Station in Montgomery, Ala. at the sub-station in Dothan. He and the Marines that work with him traveled to the air station so he could advance to his new rank in front of family members. Maj. Juan O. Turner, the recruit station commanding officer, presided over his promotion ceremony.
