
Jay Cope, public information officer at NAS Whiting Field reports an Training Air Wing FIVE helicopter had a 'training mishap' at 5:10 p.m., Thursday, February 12 at Navy's Outlying Landing Field Spencer in Pace. Cope said initial reports from the scene indicate the helicopter rolled on its right side while landing and the two pilots exited the aircraft on their own accord. The pilots were evaluated by NAS Whiting Field EMS personnel and were transported to Santa Rosa Medical Center for a routine evaluation. Cope said the incident is still under investigation and further details will be released as they become available.
