Speak Out June 6

Monday

This is Ed. On the bridge, I see where they are going to put the old railing on the new bridge. I think that is nice. It adds a classier look and we will have something to remember the old bridge. Thank you.

Hi, this is Marie. My companion and I love the Ron Hart columns that are in your paper. We thoroughly enjoy them and please keep them coming. Thank you.

Yes , this is David. I have been reading the Speak Out section in the Press Gazette for several months now. The Bible mentions astrology over 16 times in the Old Testament, yet nobody seems to care about this sin at all. In fact we had a president several years ago that used to have psychics in the White House and you mention his name in a fundamentalist church in the Bible Belt and he will get a standing ovation. Not only that, the Bible Belt voted him over a god-fearing, born-again Christian man, who still lives a Christian life today. Can someone explain this to me? Thank you

I’m wondering what it would be like if we had revival instead of all of the protesting we have in this country. Something to think about. Thank you.

Wednesday 6:54 a.m.

Yeah this is Kenneth. I’m calling in referring to the ECUA garbage pick-up. Our county commissioners told there were too many garbage trucks turning and going up the roads in Santa Rosa County. However, I feel most of those garbage trucks were buying their fuel in Santa Rosa County thus paying the fuel tax to help rebuild our roads. Currently we have ECUA trucks tearing up our highways and buying a majority of their fuel in Escambia County. There is something terribly wrong with this situation the county commissioners has dictated on the citizens of Santa Rosa County. Somehow somebody has done this for reasons other than what they have told us. I think there needs to be an investigation into this. Thank you.

Yeah, this is Bobby. Its Wednesday morning on the third of June. I just came through Milton all of the parking spots are virtually full and people are stopping on Hwy. 90 to let people out to go to the courthouse. So it must be court day, but I don’t understand how people are wanting to build a bigger courthouse, so they will need more parking and they are going to have to remove all of the spots on Hwy. 90 cause they want to four lane it too. If they build a courthouse they should build a multi-story parking garage first and put the courthouse on top of it. Thank you.

Wednesday 10:21 a.m.

This is George. Back when the city approved Doc’s Discount Liquor for selling liquor downtown at that time it was not be consumed and I don’t know when it was voted in to be consumed and I never knew this. I go to the park every once in awhile to eat my lunch. So I know why there are so many drunks down there now. It didn’t used to be that way. I guess the city is going to do like everybody else and stick it to us an inch at a time without notifying us. That is all I got.

Wednesday 4:59 p.m.

Hello, this is Marion. The liquor store requesting permission to play their music louder. It’s already too loud. Thank you.

Wednesday 8:36 p.m.

Yes, this is Jimmy. I would like to comment on Bobby’s statement about the custom house downtown. I was born two blocks from downtown and he was wrong.  The custom house was directly behind the Fisher Hamilton building and right next to it on the south side was Roger’s Seafood. You had a road between them and the navy boat docks down from Roger’s seafood. Thank you.
