FORT WALTON BEACH — To become a U.S. citizen, students must pass a U.S. English Language Test and a U.S. Civics test during their naturalization interview.
This class from the University of West Florida Intensive Language program is designed to improve ordinary English language skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking. Students prepare for the Civics Test by learning about the history, laws and customs of the U.S. government.
The course takes place 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday and Wednesday March 12 to May 9 at the UWF Emerald Coast Campus, 1170 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in Fort Walton Beach. Tuition is $425.
