According to the Florida Department of Transportation, construction activities are set to begin the week of Monday, May 4 on State Road 281 (Avalon Boulevard) in Santa Rosa County.
FDOT said in a press release Wednesday the work is part of a $1.7 million contract to resurface 6.1 miles of Avalon Boulevard from the Garcon Point Bridge to south of Interstate 10. Motorists can expect intermittent and alternating lane restrictions to occur. Drivers are reminded to use caution and obey the posted speed limit when traveling through the work zone. Reports said the project is anticipated to be complete late summer of this year.
All planned construction activities are weather dependent and may be re-scheduled in the event of inclement weather. For more information, follow the Florida Department of Transportation District Three on Twitter @myfdot_nwfl or like us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/MyFDOTNWFL.
