A Pace family was able to safely exit their home on Friday morning, before it became engulfed in flames, according to Pace Fire Rescue District Fire Chief Donnie Wadkins.
Wadkins said the cause of the fire within the Berrybrook Circle neighborhood in Pace is undetermined at this time and will be investigated by the Florida State Fire Marshal’s Office.
Fire crews from Pace Fire Rescue, Pace Volunteer Fire Department, Avalon Fire Rescue, Skyline Fire and Rescue, the Bagdad Volunteer Fire Department and the Harold Volunteer Fire Department responded to the fire. Fire crews from Escambia County were also on scene along with first responders from Lifeguard Ambulance Service and the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office.
First responders had the entrance to the Berrybrook Circle neighborhood closed to incoming traffic from Berryhill Road, while firefighters worked at the scene.
Wadkins said the home is considered to be total loss, following the incident.
