A decomposing body was discovered Wednesday morning in the wooded area next to the Helping Hand Thrift Store Wednesday morning.
Santa Rosa County Sheriffâs Office and detectives from the major crimes division were dispatched to the scene at 9:08 a.m. and began an investigation.
Captain Bob Johnson said the individual was likely a transient, and that it appeared the individual had fallen asleep in the woods.
"There is no evidence of foul play," Johnson said.
The investigation in Santa Rosa County is ongoing. The name will be released once next of kin is notified.
