FDOT: Resurfacing for Avalon Boulevard scheduled for next week

Motorists should expect intermittent and alternating lane restrictions to occur along Avalon Boulevard beginning next week, while a resurfacing project begins.

According to a press release from the Florida Department of Transportation, construction activities will begin the week of Monday, March 30.

The project is part of a $1.7 million contract to resurface over six miles of Avalon Boulevard from Garcon Point Bridge to south of Interstate 10. Access to businesses and residents will be maintained at all times, the press release said. The project is expected to be completed by late summer of this year. The completion date could change due to  inclement weather conditions.

Motorists are reminded to use caution along the roadway and obey the posted speed limit, when traveling through the work zone on Avalon Boulevard.
