The Santa Rosa Historical Society is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the “Back to the Future” movie Saturday with a showing of the film in the Imogene Theatre in downtown Milton along with a costume contest themed after the film and 80’s trivia with prizes.
The contest and the costume competition will be hosted by Tim Roberts, who will serve as a Marty McFly impersonator, the role made famous in the film by Michael J. Fox.
Roberts, a fan of the film since he was a child, is a Pensacola businessman.
“Everybody has fantasized about time travel in some way, this movie made it fun,” he said. “It was such a cool movie with a great soundtrack.”
This event will serve as an opportunity for a younger generation to experience the film on the big screen, Roberts said.
“First and foremost, this is a great way for families to experience the Imogene Theatre,” he said.
In addition to seeing the film and partaking in festivities, the event will also feature a Delorean, the time-traveling vehicle featured in the film.
Snacks and beverages will also be available for purchase. Tickets will be available for purchase at the event beginning at 5:30 p.m.
