An accident at the intersection of State Road 87 S and Welcome Church Road resulted in the death of Cameron Burke, 22, of Crestview Sunday. According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, Robert Johnson, 28, of Milton, sat behind the wheel of a 2008 Chevrolet van, at Welcome Church Road waiting to make a left turn on to State Road 87. Burke, driving a 2006 Honda CBR, was headed south on SR87 in the inside lane approaching the intersection. Johnson, according to the report, pulled across the south lanes of SR87 into Burke’s path. The front of Burke’s CBR collided with the left side of Johnson’s van and both vehicles came to rest in the intersection. Burke was pronounced deceased on scene.
