On the heels of Gulf Breeze Police Officer Sgt. Kerstan Tatro being dragged by a car during a traffic stop Monday, the Santa Rosa County Board of County Commissioners honored all county first responders Thursday. Tom Lloyd, emergency management operations chief, received the proclamation (pictured holding the document) surrounded by the commissioners, and representatives from the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office, Avalon Fire Rescue District, Pace Fire Rescue District, City of Milton Fire Department, Bagdad Volunteer Fire Department, Lifeguard Ambulance Service, Munson Volunteer Fire Department, Midway Fire District, Navarre Beach Fire Department, and Holley Navarre Fire District.
