Pensacola State College presents the Wind Ensemble and Jazz Ensemble in a free concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 9, at the Ashmore Auditorium, Building 8, on the Pensacola campus, 1000 College Blvd. The public is invited. No tickets are required.
The Wind Ensemble’s program features Percy Grainger’s composition, “The Immovable Do,” and Donald Hunsberger’s arrangement of Aaron Copland’s “Quiet City.” This composition spotlights PSC sophomore LaBarrin Wallace on English horn and PSC freshman Ryan Murphy on trumpet. The ensemble concludes with Robert W. Smith’s epic “Symphony No. 3, Don Quixote.”
Roger Villines leads the acclaimed PSC Jazz Ensemble in arrangements by Sammy Nestico, John Coltrane, Gordon Goodwin and the immortal Duke Ellington. For more information, contact PSC Marketing Director Sheila Nichols at 850-484-1428.
