Pace resident David Craig Colville, 36, was recently found guilty of sexual battery and molestation by a Santa Rosa County Jury, according to press release from State Attorney Bill Eddins office.
On Thursday, Colville was found guilty of ten counts of sexual battery upon a child by a person in familial or custodial authority, one count of lewd or lascivious molestation and one count of lewd or lascivious conduct.
The press release states Colville committed the crimes between April 1, 2011 and December 31, 2013 at various Santa Rosa County residences where he was living at the time. The state attorney’s office said Colville began to engage in sexual acts with a female victim while she was in the eighth grade. The child reported the abuse to the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office in September of 2014 in which an investigation led to Colville’s arrest on October 11, 2014.
Following the verdict, a circuit judge revoked Colville’s bond and remanded him into custody. Sentencing is scheduled for August 11. Colville is facing a maximum sentence of 330 years in prison.
Colville will also appear on trial for similar charges of lewd or lascivious battery and lewd or lascivious conduct involving a second victim on August 24.
