A Milton man was arrested Friday morning when he wrote a threatening text message to his mother and had a physical altercation with someone else. Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office reports Jonathon Marth, 31, Milton was fired from his job earlier on Thursday. Before arriving at his home, reports said his mother told him he would have to move since he no longer had a job. Deputies said it was then his mother began receiving threatening text messages. Reports said after he returned home to find his belongings in the back of a truck, he had a verbal altercation which later turned physical with a family friend. Later, when he asked his mother for his EBT card, reports said he slapped his mother on the arm, leaving a bruise.
Deputies said although Marth deleted his portion of the text messages from his phone, they were still visible from his mother’s. Marth was charged with battery and intimidation-write, send threat to kill or injure. He is being held without bond at the county jail.
