On Monday night Nov. 24th both varsity basketball teams from Central played Poplar Springs High School.
The Lady Jaguars hit 50% of their free throws but it wasn’t enough to balance out the 79% free throws that the Atomics made.
Senior Makayla Simmons led the Jaguars on the court with 21 points, Hailey Gauthier finished with 11 and Sarah Smith added 8 in the 47-35 loss.
The Lady Jaguars will host a District game Tuesday night, Dec. 2nd against the Paxton Bobcats.
Central Varsity Boys jumped out to a 21-9 first quarter lead against the Poplar Springs Atomics and kept on scoring. Central outscored the Atomics every quarter to finish with a 87-53 win.
Sophomore Tristan Ellision had the hot hand for the Jaguars scoring 21 points.
Central’s Zac Wright and Nolan Frady each added 12 points apiece and James Ward scored 11.

The Jaguars will travel to Baker High Monday night Dec. 1st to play a non-District matchup and will host District rival Paxton Tuesday night, Dec. 2nd.
Both junior varsity and varsity teams will be at home against Paxton on Dec. 2nd starting at 4:00 P.M.
