Speak Out September 20

Monday 2:27 a.m.

Hello, this is Marian. I am anxious to know how the new mayor, city council members, and new county commissioners are going to handle the turmoil our city and county are in because of many bad choices and wasted money by elected officials. The Berryhill Street route is the only one that will help with the heavy traffic in downtown Milton.

Tuesday 12:37 p.m.

This is Louise. I wish someone would put a Dollar Tree at the Winn-Dixie Shopping Center in Milton. I don’t like driving to Pace. Thank you.

Tuesday 4:50 p.m.

I think President Obama should bring everybody from Afghanistan home and forget about the Taliban and the other one because Kapsi He is not really a good friend of America. He just wants the money. He is a traitor to us. Anyway, thank you. This is Maria.

Tuesday 8:26 p.m.

Hey, this is Dennis. God knows I’m no expert on domestic or foreign affairs. I have heard some talk about the Obama administration arming moderate rebels in Syria to fight ISIS. I thought about the Frank and Jesse James Gang. Let’s hypothetically say Frank and Jesse split up and formed two different gangs. Let’s say the federal government went to the Frank James Gang and said hey we’ll give you money and arms to help us bring down the Jesse James Gang. I could hear Frank James say “Yeah.” I could see Frank and Jesse laughing all the way to the bank. I guess the analogy I’m making is it seems a little risky to arm one rebel group to take down another rebel group.

Tuesday 8:28 p.m.

Hey, this is Dennis. I was troubled to see the beheading of our American journalist. Now I’m sure the British are upset with some of their people being beheaded. Is ISIS stupid or deliberately picking a fight with America and Britain? If they are deliberately planning to draw us into a war then, why? I’ve heard ISIS has 30,000 men. You would have to be totally insane to pick a fight with two of the world’s superpowers. It seems a little weird to me.

Wednesday 5:56 a.m.

Yes, this is Nita. Listen, the commissioners are talking about using ECAT in Santa Rosa County for bus transportation. Why not give it to someone in Santa Rosa County and keep the money here? ECAT has had a lot of trouble in Pensacola. They are always on strike, etc. Vote your heart. Remember, they want ECAT in Milton from Pensacola. All we hope people without transportation want is to get to Pace and back, not Pensacola in particularly just around Milton and pace. Thank you.

Wednesday 8:03 a.m.

On a recent morning, I was driving north on Stewart Street. I met a Milton Police Department officer driving south. As we passed going the opposite direction, I was driving the posted speed limit, seatbelt on. He pulled me over near King Middle School and asked me if I had a seatbelt on. I wanted to know why he chased me down to ask me that if I was doing nothing wrong. He said he was just doing his job. So, wear your seat belt because they’re getting people with seatbelts around here.
