Tonight Pace and Milton High bands compete in jalapeno eating contest

Tonight Whataburger will welcome the Pace and Milton High School bands to face off as friendly rivals in a battle of heat resistance for a good cause from 5 to 7 p.m. at Pace Whataburger. Three representatives chosen by each rival team will compete against one another to see which team can consume the most jalapeños in 60 seconds. The winning team will win a $1,000 donation. Additionally, the team that brings the most fans to the event will also win $500 for their school. To add to the fun, there will be a special drum line performance and Whataburger’s mascot, Whataguy, will be in attendance.

“Jalapeños are a signature topping at Whataburger, and we’re thrilled to spice things up with a fair, spirited competition that provides the Pace and Milton High School bands a unique way to help invest in their schools,” said Whataburger Director of Operations Lee Cartledge. “We wish both teams the best of luck in this brief, yet intense, contest and we’ll be ready to serve them with a large, cold beverage as soon as it’s over!”

Family-owned Whataburger has proudly served its famous burgers since 1950 and continues to deliver fresh, made-to-order meals every day with extraordinary customer service. In addition to the Bring the Heat competition, Whataburger supports the communities it serves through charitable giving and volunteerism to a number of nonprofit organizations that focus on children’s charities, cancer research, hunger assistance, disaster relief and military support.  For more information call
