Holiday Closures

Libraries will be closed in observance of the Christmas holiday Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 24 – 25.  They will resume normal business hours Friday, Dec. 26. Libraries will also close at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31.

Saturdays with Santa @ your library® 

Santa will take a break from his preparations at the North Pole to read a Christmas story and listen to wish lists from area children. Other highlights will include festive snacks and a special gift from Santa. Please bring your camera if you would like a picture taken with Santa. All ages are welcome! Special thanks to area Friends of the Library for sponsoring this very special visit. Don’t forget to stop inside the library to see displays featuring special holiday books.

Story Time @ your library®

Story time for 3 to 5-year-olds who are able to attend without a caregiver will be held during the following times through Dec. 12:

•         11 a.m. on Mondays at the Jay Library

•         11 a.m. on Tuesdays at the Navarre Library

•         11:15 a.m. on Wednesdays at the Milton Library

•         11:15 a.m. on Wednesdays at the Gulf Breeze Library

•         11 a.m. on Fridays at the Pace Library

In consideration of all participants, programs will start promptly at the assigned times.

Genealogy Research Assistance @ your library® – Milton Library

Mondays 9 a.m. – noon, Tuesdays, 1:30 – 3:30 p.m.

On Mondays from 9 a.m. – noon, Tuesdays from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m., library volunteers are available at the Milton Library located at 5541 Alabama St., to give general genealogy research guidance; one-on-one assistance in using online and print genealogy resources for family researchers; and assistance in filling out ancestral charts and family group records. Beginners and seasoned researchers are invited to use these services. To ensure a volunteer is available to assist you, please call before you visit.

Hopeful Hearts @ your library® – Navarre Library

Fridays, 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

A series of meetings for "Hopeful Hearts," a bereavement support group, will be held at the Navarre Library on Fridays from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. The weekly sessions will address grief support–following an educational outline– and offer assistance, love and listening ears to those grieving over the loss of a loved one. The meetings will be facilitated by Chaplain Ken Spivey of Emerald Coast Hospice. All materials will be provided, refreshments will be served, and no reservation is required. There is no charge to participate.  The programs are held at the Navarre Library located at 8484 James M. Harvell Rd. in Navarre.

Classic Movies @ your library® – Navarre Library

Dec. 9, 2 p.m.

Join fellow movie lovers on the second Tuesday of every month at the Navarre Library located at 8484 James M. Harvell Rd. in Navarre for a showing of a classic movie. This month you’ll be treated to a holiday classic!  When he loses in love, a song-and-dance man retires from show business to run a country inn that he only opens on holidays.  Each program is open to the public and there is no charge or prior registration required. Refreshments provided by the Friends of the Navarre Library.  Contact the Navarre Library for additional information.

Friends of the Gulf Breeze Library Board of Director’s Meeting – Dec. 9, 5 p.m.

Reading Education Assistance Dogs @ your library® – Navarre Library

Dec. 10, 4 – 5:30 p.m.

Come, Sit, Stay & R.E.A.D. with a Furry Friend in the Navarre Library Nov. 12, from 4 – 5:30 p.m. Registration is required. The program is held on the second Wednesday each month in the Navarre Library located at 8484 James M. Harvell Rd. in Navarre. Contact the Navarre Library for more information or to sign up.

Friends of the Milton Library Annual Meeting – Dec. 11, 5:30 p.m.

Page Turners @ your library® – Gulf Breeze Library

Dec. 12, 10:30 a.m.

Join us in the Gulf Breeze Library study room for our fiction book club. Page Turners meets at 10:30 a.m. on the second Friday of every other month. This month's selection is Busy Body by M.C Beaton. There is a limit of 20 participants, so please call the library or drop by to sign up and speak to a staff member today about reserving your copy!
