Thirty days was granted to owners of West Florida Recycling (WFR) to improve their performance in picking up recycled materials in Santa Rosa County. During this time they also must clear up their lease debt which is over $20,000.
WFR officials say they are more than willing to make amends and renegotiate, stating the county will be hard pressed to find another company to deal with the waste.
County officials say the company has rectified much of what it owes to the County however it didn't quite meet requirements set on Monday. In not sticking to its word, the company could lose its contract with the county.
County commissioners agreed while waiting on WFR, they will be looking at other proposals to consider in replacing the current contract holder.
