Milton youth basketball team wins back-to-back

PENSACOLA — The Milton Warriors 8U basketball team competed in the March 16 to 18 Starr Athletics 15th Annual Spring fest Shootout in Pensacola. The team won both of its games.

The Warriors competed against S.L. Jones Academy Blue & Gold teams. The Milton Warriors took the lead early winning both matches.

The game against S. L. Jones’ Blue team, Zander Harper and Jordan Rushing led Milton in scoring, both tying at six points each. Evan Lanasa contributed four points for the Warriors. De’ Zion Hudson led the team with multiple steals and ball control. The final score was 16-8.

In the game against S. L. Jones Gold, the Warriors won 11-4. Harper led with six points and Rushing contributed four points.

The Warriors will compete in a basketball tournament, the 7th Annual Magic Classics in Orlando March 23-25, 2018. They will also compete in multiple games in the Pensacola area during the spring. The Milton Warriors’ head coach is Gary Rushing and assistant coaches are Y.T. Holmes and Shannon Harper.
