JLINE and his crew members brought a message of acceptance and belief in oneself to a King Middle School assembly. Through a high energy dance show mixed with a skit featuring an interview with JLINE about his personal struggles and music career, students learned how JLINE went from an outcast to and outstanding performance artist. JLINE said before 6th grade he was known for his quirky, colorful style of dress but by the end of middle school he’d lost friends and decided to shut down and go invisible. His parents, he said, had enough and after 2 years put him in taekwondo where he eventually opened up again and pursued music and dance, his first love. Music featured hits like a remix of Pharrell Williams’ “Happy” and Pitbull’s “Timber” as well as originals from JLINE like “Warrior” and “Epic.”
