
“Pinched electrical wiring” is believed to be responsible for causing approximately $10,000 in damages from a residential fire in Navarre over the weekend, according to a press release from the Santa Rosa County public information office.
Fire units from Holley Navarre, Navarre Beach, Florosa and Midway responded to the residential fire on Presidio Street on Saturday afternoon. Although no injuries were reported in the incident, the press release states the fire displaced two adults, who are currently being assisted by the American Red Cross.
The residential fire marks the fourth candle to be extinguished on the Santa Rosa County “Keep Your Holidays Bright” fire safety tree. For the eigth year, emergency service agencies within the county promote fire safety throughout the month of December with the fire safety tree, located at the Santa Rosa County Administration Complex on Caroline Street in Milton.
Each time fireifhgters respons to a residential fire or large wildfire causing fire damage, an electric candle will be ‘extinguished’ on the fire safety tree.
