Tornado warning lifted for Navarre area

This morning at approximately 11:05 am a funnel cloud was reported near West Navarre Intermediate in Navarre.  All of the schools in the Navarre area down to Woodlawn Beach Middle School were placed in Tornado Warning condition and students were moved to the identified storm locations within the schools prepared for imminent action.  Oriole Beach Elementary was notified of the situation and asked to bring all students in the building and be ready if the storm moved towards their location. The funnel cloud was soon identified as a water spout and the spout was watched closely until it dissipated at approximately 11:50 am.  At that time the schools were notified the Tornado Warning was lifted and students returned to normal activity with special attention given to the severe weather for the rest of the day.
