
One person suffered injuries in a vehicle incident after striking a portion of the Santa Rosa County School District building on Canal Street this morning.
Gary Nichols, a minister at the First Baptist Church of Milton, witnessed the incident’s aftermath when driving to work around 7:20 a.m. this morning.
Nichols said he noticed that a dark colored sport utility vehicle outside the building, which had struck two outside exterior air conditioning units before impacting the brick building.
Nichols reported seeing first responders take a female from the SUV into a ambulance, which left the scene.
Milton Police Department could not release further information on the incident at this time.

Tim Wyrosdick, superintendant for Santa Rosa County Schools District, said no one inside the building was injured in the incident. The building was inspected by an engineer and deemed structurally sound, he said.
Although the air conditioning units were damaged, which keep the county school district computer servers cooled, Wyrosdick said mobile air conditioning units were placed inside the building in order to keep the servers from overheating.
Wyrosdick said the wall struck by the vehicle will need to be replaced.
