District 1 Commissioner Jayer Williamson is hosting a town hall meeting Tuesday, July 1 at 6 p.m. at the Pace Community Center located at 5976 Chumuckla Highway. The purpose of the meeting is to collect citizen input on a new county judicial center.
There are currently three locations identified for a new judicial center – 22.46 acres in Pea Ridge currently under contract contingent on the passing of a local option sales tax and selection by voters, 15 acres of donated land in East Milton and the current downtown Milton location of 6.63 acres which includes 3.98 acres owned by the county and an additional 2.65 acres of currently privately owned land. Voters will be able to select their location preference and if they support a local option sales tax to fund a new courthouse on the November general election ballot. Information on the proposed new judicial center is available online at www.santarosa.fl.gov or by clicking here.
