On Wednesday Santa Rosa Medical Center CEO Phillip L. Wright and representatives from LifeNet Health of Florida and LifeQuest Organ Recovery Services held a flag raising ceremony in honor of organ donors, recipients and their families. Statistics show more than 120,000 men, women and children are awaiting organ transplants to save their lives. In Florida alone, more than 4,000 people are registered on the transplant waiting list. Every ten minutes another name is added to the national transplant waiting list, and an average of 19 lives are lost each day due to the lack of organs available for transplant.
