Speak Out November 15

Speak Out 11/19/2014

This is Larry in Pace. I was just behind one of these service vehicles for the fire department. I think it said service 21 and I kind of followed him for awhile. I think the chief needs to teach these guys what the speed limit is. We were in a 45 and he is going 55. We go into a 35 mile an hour zone in Escambia County and he was still doing 50, he’s leaving me.  So, chief you need to start training these people. It’s Thursday, the 13th of November.  There is guys over here in Escambia County riding down Davis Highway leaving everybody. They don’t even pay attention.

Reading page A1 article is the bottom of the right, Milton to move forward with open container policy.  This is not moving forward, this is moving backward.  What about people with small children that are there.  I have never yet seen anybody that had more than just a couple of beers. What about those that had more than two and had three beers and our inappropriately behaved. I disagree with this idea whole-heartedly and this does not need to be done.  This is not moving forward this is moving backwards. Thank you.

I just wanted to say that the restaurant next to the Veteran’s Memorial Plaza in Milton looks tacky. They need to clean up around their premises and get rid of the tacky barge and the rusty barbeque grill.  It really spoils the view from Veteran’s Park.  Thank you.

I am honestly concerned and to the citizens of Santa Rosa County, Bagdad and all fishermen.  This new park. I just read that $5,600 will be spent for a gate. That gate must be made of gold.  Does this new gate mean that the new park will have restricted hours?  Will people be able to fish from it? From the pier? Unlike the Riverwalk, we cannot enjoy fishing.  Why does everything near by and on the water have to have rules governing the use of it?  Is the city and county paying for it? Or is the money coming from the state?  These are all good questions that need answered.  I have no idea who to contact that could answer these important questions.  Because I have never read where the county has had or will have a public meeting on this. Thank you for letting me speak out.  I hope you don’t censor this call, like you do the other ones. Thank you.
