According to SRSO Public Information Officer Rich Aloy, detectives of the Major Crimes Unit made an arrest in the Munson homicide case. Taylor Lynn Crongeyer, 18, Milton, the person of interest in the crime, was arrested and charged with one open count of homicide, a capital felony. Aloy said she was taken to the Santa Rosa County Jail where she remains with no bond.
Aloy said detectives and crime scene units worked tediously in an attempt to bring closure to the investigation. Sufficient evidence was collected to charge Crongeyer with the homicide.
Reports said Crongeyer was spotted exiting the residence on Dale Hall road with blood on her clothing. Reports also said after deputies walked through the residence, they noticed there were blood spots on the floor, bedroom mattress, and outside on the front and back porch area. Reports said they noticed a rifle on the floor at the foot of a bed, which was located in the master bedroom. Aubrey Cooley was tied to the trailer hitch of a pick up truck from his ankles with a rope and he was deceased with a gunshot wound to the head.
Earlier: The Santa Rosa County Office has released the name of the victim as Aubrey Dewayne Cooley, 40, a resident of Dale Hall Road.
The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a homicide which occurred early Friday morning in Munson.
According to a press release from the sheriff’s office, deputies were dispatched to a welfare check on Dale Hall Road at 12:30 a.m. While en route it was determined the call was in reference to a shooting.
Deputies determined there was a shooting and one adult male was deceased. One person at the scene was taken into custody and is being considered a person of interest at this time, according to the press release.
The identity of the victim is being withheld until notifications are made. The sheriff’s office will release more information as it becomes available.
