County commissioners want a new courthouse

Dear Editor,

Remember when a republican called out President Obama and said ‘you lie?’ He was not wrong because all politicians lie. How do they get elected? Our local politicians follow this same format. They lie to manipulate voters to cave in about a new courthouse. County commissioners, judges, the sheriff all say the courthouse is too old. There are hundreds, if not thousands of governmental buildings in the north east that are hundreds of years old and are being used and kept up. Last night one of the county commissioners was on television and said we cannot fix the old courthouse because they would have to find temporary quarters for the courts and that would be impossible to do. My point is if they put a new courthouse in the same place they would have to do the same. My wife did jury duty in the old courthouse and she said it was very nice. The only improvement needed was the restrooms. They have not been updated on purpose. Whatever location the voters pick, they, the commissioners can pick the one they want. I guarantee the developers involved are friends of the politicians. I am not voting for a new tax increase.
