Students of Hobbs Middle School have been reading a chapter at the end of every school period from Gordan Korman's "Schooled" according to Jackie Wiscaver, teacher at Hobbs. The book, according to Wiscaver, is about a boy raised on a hippy commune thrown into modern society when his grandmother dies. Wiscaver said Thursday will feature a dance after school and a family night where students' parents will have the opportunity to tour the school and learn about the book from doors decoarated by chapter and students dressed in character from the book. "The book has a great message about accepting each other's individuality and anti-bullying. All the teachers are commenting on how much the kids and they are enjoying it." Wiscaver said the family night runs 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
