King Middle School held its veterans appreciation breakfast Friday honoring this year United States Navy veteran Ralph Nesenson and Marine Corps pilot Eugene "Red" James. The bounty of food could have fed an army. Current and former  members from all military branches attended. Members of Boy Scout Troop 490, Nate Nunn, Garrett Allen, Jackob Braun, and Zachary Braun, retired its American flag during the celebration assisted by Makayla Martin, a member of the Young Marines. County and state officials attended including newly reelected Florida Representative Jeff Miller, Chairman of the House Veteran's Affairs Committee.  For Dee Copeland, King Middle teacher of 41 years, Student Government Association advisor, and organizer of the breakfast, this will be her last as she is retiring in February.
