Milton High

Coach Murry Rutledge is forecasting exciting days and years ahead for the Milton High boy’s golf team.  Majority of the Milton boy’s golf team are young golfers. They have one sophomore and one junior on their team as well. “We have some great kids on the team but we need a lot more experience and practice.”

The newcomers on the Panther’s team are exciting for Rutledge, “They all have potential to be good players.”

Rutledge is extremely proud of his boys for their improvement this far in the season on the golf course however he beams with pride when he shares, “I am most proud of them for their G.P.A.’s!”

Seniors Taylor Ford, Mark Britton and Micah McGaha all have G.P.A.’s higher than a 4.0.  Senior Adam Bright is also at the top academically with a 3.6 G.P.A.

The Panthers welcomed one transfer student to their team this season, Hunter Mann.  Mann, a junior, has qualified for every match this season. Rutledge sees great potential in Mann his senior year.

Christian Faulk, Zack McKnight, Gavin Parker, Joseph Pool and Beau Martin are all freshman. “All of these have great potential if they dedicate themselves to practice.”

The lone sophomore Josiah Pool has improved greatly from the start of the season according to Rutledge.

Pace High

Pace returned four players to their boy’s golf team this season. “These guys have a lot of experience playing high school golf,” Coach Keith Kirchharr shared.

Kirchharr and his boys have their goal in place hoping to win district and earn a playoff spot. “We need to be more consistent with our low scores,” Kirchharr continued. “Then we can achieve our goals.”

To win district the boys are going to have to take four low scores according to Kirchharr. He says that in their latest season matches they will play two or three low rounds.
