A fundraising event for 14-year-old Mason Roland of Pace, who is diagnosed Cystinosis – a rare metabolic disease, is happening on Saturday at The Cove Pub in Pace.
From 1 p.m. to midnight, event organizers Ken and Misty Smith are assisting Mason and his mother, Cecily Newton, in covering medical expenses for an upcoming kidney transplant.
Residents can support Mason while participating in a bike show, or by participating a raffle.
Lunch and baked goods will be sold from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
From 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. the bike show will commence in which several prizes will be available including best American stock, best American custom, best metric custom, best bobber/rat bike, best in show, people’s choice and Mason’s choice.
From 4:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., attendees can enjoy the live music from Marc Kaul, Lauren Kay, Betsy Badwater and Dew Pendleton Band.
The event will end with a raffle at 11:30, with prizes from local businesses.
