Speak Out 8-9

Well, this is to the registered voters of Santa Rosa County. My name is Bob. Folks, I’ve lived in SRC for right at 62 years. It’s time to vote everybody out. I almost got rear ended yesterday because I had to slam on brakes at the light. I was trying to go through the light without getting the red so I could get a picture of the yellow and an older woman almost slammed into the back of me. A young man behind her jumped out of his truck and started hollering at me. If those lights don’t wake y’all up, I don’t know what will. City of Milton needs to vote all of the city council out, every one of them. The SRC, stand up and man up. Vote out the county commissioners and the school board. They’re not doing a darn thing. That’s all I’ve got to say. Thank you.

I read with interest your editorial in the paper last week “Florida State standards lack validation.” The interesting part was as I quote you, “when the older generation left high school they felt completely capable of making their way in the world: filling out a check, balancing a check book, making dinner, do their own housekeeping. That was taught by the home economics classes and that is no longer offered by either the county or the state. Seems that is no longer important any more to our educators. Thank you.

Hello, this is Marian. All homeowners who live in flood zone areas know you can repair, remodel your home once it is torn down. Your home must be built upon stilts or poles. How is Mr. Hill going to build a restaurant without it being up on poles etc? The building code applies to everyone just like our traffic light in downtown Milton. Thank you.

Yes, my name is Martha and I would like to call Speak Out in reference to the Milton Community Center. I am a senior and I go there on Mondays for line dancing and also was participating in volleyball, but the heat in the gym is so hot that it makes it unbearable. I’ve made 4 verbal complaints to office staff to no avail. I’ve also take my grandson up there to play basketball due to the fact that he is out for the summer and he has nowhere else to go around here and the heat is so bad we can’t even enjoy him playing. Surely somebody can do something about the heat that is in the gym. It is totally unbearable. Again, this is in reference to the Milton Community Center. Thank you.

This is Mary, a concerned senior citizen. I was seeing where Governor Scott is wanting the voters of Florida not to let Florida go to pot and telling all the dangers of marijuana. I wonder why the law enforcement and the medical profession are not saying a word because this is a dangerous drug and it’ll be sold in stores. That means our children and young people and old people can get it. And nobody wants it. He said it would cause a lot of wrecks on the road because they can’t see where they’re going. I don’t understand. Even the churches need to warn their people not to for marijuana to become legalized. That’s something we don’t need in Florida. Thank you.

Hey this is Dennis. I went to Google and typed in “core values of homeland security.” Five core values came up. Number 2 was securing and managing our borders. Number 3 was enforcing and administering our immigration laws. We know after the Boston Marathon bombing they’re capable of locking down the entire city of Boston to find 2 terrorists but they have failed to live up to two of their five core values. They seem more obsessed with suppressing the legalized citizen.

Jeffrey is correct about the alligator gar. Alabama was a lot more lenient on laws regulating the alligator gars in Alabama waters. Therefore, we spend a lot of trips going to Pinsaw because the brim fishing is better, the reason being not as many alligator gars. They have only one predator, the alligator. I’ve seen them in Quintette Lake as long as a 12-foot boat we were sitting in. Lots of people shave seen these things this big. They have no predator to control the population. FWC is protecting them a lot more stringent than anywhere else in the country. In Louisiana, they catch them every day and eat them. They’re in the fish markets over there. Have a nice day.

Yes, this is Jesse from Pace. I’d like to speak a little bit on people killing our young, raping them and murdering people. They need to change the law. When you kill somebody, you rape a little child, ruin their life, throw a 3-month-old baby out the car window, you shouldn’t get no life in prison. They should kill you. That’s the bottom line. If they’d start killing these people doing this, other people would see what they’d face if they do it. America is getting sick, killing everybody and killing each other. They aren’t getting anything out of it. See, that 3-month-old baby never got a chance at life, but this son of a gun is going to live in prison and live out the rest of his life. I hope somebody kills him when he gets in prison for killing a baby. The law needs to be changed to make people pay for their actions. That’s all I’ve got to say. Bye.

Hi, this is Judy from Pace and Raymond you finally said something I can agree with you about in your Speak Out for Wednesday. And Maria, a note to you, Israel is God’s country and we always support God’s country and that’s it. Thank you. Bye.
