Baby chicks not just for Easter baskets

Springtime brings about baby chicks; soft, cute and peeping. However, baby chicks grow into a hen or a rooster and within just a few weeks will grow into a regular sized bird, said Brian Lea of Manning’s Feed and Seed, Milton.  He said to keep in mind chickens need clean water and feed on a daily basis, along with ample space to do things chickens do—such as scratch, cluck, lay eggs and eat bugs—and if they are roosters they will crow all day long.
