Traffic Shift Planned for Hwy 90
Traffic on U.S. 90 between Milton Trail and Lundy Lane in Santa Rosa County will be shifted to the north side of roadway and the left turn lane at Johnson Road will close beginning Sunday, March 2. The traffic shift and lane closure are expected to be in place until the end of March as crews continue drainage work in advance of constructing the new Marquis Bayou Bridge. Planned construction activities are weather dependent and may be re-scheduled in the event of inclement weather. Three Rivers Chapter, NSDAR Meeting
The Three Rivers Chapter meeting will be on Saturday, March 8 at the Bagdad United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 4540 Forsyth Street, Bagdad. Refreshments will be at 10 a.m. with the meeting at 10:30. The program will be a reenactment of our Founder, Mary S. Lockwood. Hostesses are Theta Ashing, Sue Webb and Gail Allred. Please bring items for Fisher House and the Project Patriot Program for wounded military men and women, and donations for the USO.

Sacred Heart to Provide Free Health Screenings in March
During March, Sacred Heart Health System will provide free heart-health screenings in Pensacola, Cantonment, Milton and Bagdad for adults who are poor, elderly and uninsured. One location will provide free osteoporosis screenings. Heart-health screenings will measure blood pressure, blood sugar and total cholesterol, and can detect anemia. The screenings are helpful in diagnosing conditions that put people at high risk for heart attack, stroke, diabetes and other health problems. Osteoporosis screenings measure bone density.Following is the March schedule:

Santa Rosa Art Association
On Saturday, March 22, 2014, the Santa Rosa Art Association, Inc. a non-profit organization, will have a "Polymer Clay Pendant" class in building 4900 on the Milton campus of Pensacola State College from 10:00 to 12:00 noon. The presenting artist is Sandi Lang who is now showing her artwork at "Dragonfly Gallery" and "Local Colour" in Milton, FL. She is proficient as a Polymer Clay Artist, Fiber Arts, Gourds and Pastels. Kits will be available for a nominal fee under $5.00. Please bring pasta clay machine and a tissue blade. Everything else will be provided by the artist. A fee of $10.00 for non-members. Line Dancing Classes
Beginning and intermediate line dance classes will be every Thursday evening at 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. for beginners and from 7:15 p.m. until 8:15 p.m. for intermediate class. Pace Fire and Rescue conducting annual picture fund drive
The Pace Fire and Rescue District is conducting their annual Picture Fund Drive for 2014. The proceeds will go toward their local benevolent fund which helps citizens and businesses in the Pace area that are displaced. To achieve this goal, Chief Donnie Wadkins asks for every household within the Pace Fire/Rescue area to support this effort. The drive will continue through June 1.
Scholarship for Seniors
The Pensacola Heritage Foundation is offering a 2014 scholarship in the amount of $1,000 to a graduating senior from Escambia/Santa Rosa County. The winner must be graduating as a senior in a local high school and enrolling as a freshman in college in the fall, 2014. Students will write an essay not to exceed 1,000 words on either Pensacola’s local heritage, or on Bernardo de Galvez. The completed application must be received by Pensacola Heritage Foundation, P.O. Box 12424, Pensacola, FL 32591, on or before April 1, 2014.
