Speak Out August 6

Thursday 9:50 a.m.

This is AW. I read the article about the logging trucks and the city limits of Milton and Berryhill Rd. It’s so dangerous because of the schools and the hospital. Also, the trucks speed on Quintette Rd. between both counties, Santa Rosa and Escambia, and we need to do something soon to stop this or someone is going to get killed. Thank you for allowing me to speak out.

 Thursday 10:08 a.m.

This is Nell. This is about the dumbing down of the word of God our forefathers chose for us. The 1950s printing presses and publishing companies were sold and resold. Revised versions became more and more lax to the text of the very last page of Revelation of our Bible, the King James Version. “Chrislam” is the newest printing, King James Version intertwined with the Quran, our new world order religions. See that each person of your family has a King James Version of the Bible. Teach and read it to them. As you study, God and Jehovah interprets it to you and your children on the level they can understand. When we believe our children cannot understand what we understood as children, we admit they are dumber than we were. God gave them the same kind of brain we had. Thank you.

Friday, 8 a.m.

I'm a subscriber, by U.S. Mail. Hopefully, the Press Gazette will print a short bio with accomplishments, political party affiliation, etc., of all the candidates running in the upcoming elections.  There are signs all over the area, but only a few display party affiliation of the candidate.

Friday 8:33 a.m.

Thank you for the opportunity to speak whatever’s on my mind. This is Raymond, and I’d like to say that people in this country need to be very mindful of the leadership that is pushing a homosexual agenda. After, all Sodom and Gomorrah is dead, not God.

Friday 11:34 a.m.

Yes, this is Bobby. I’ve had a driver’s license since 1958 or 59 and now when I renew it, I have to have my birth certificate and all that kind of stuff. I just heard on the radio, WEBY, that in the state of Florida, an illegal alien can get a driver’s license now. I don’t understand. If they’re an illegal alien, they aren’t allowed to be here. I’m wondering if they’re requiring them to have all the same documentation we have to have just to renew ours. I wouldn’t think a lot of them who swim in the river could be bringing their birth certificate with them. I’m just wondering. Thank you.

Friday 2:19 p.m.

This is George. I wasn’t thinking very clearly. If you could walk around the field, the Navy helicopter field, there are people that use it day and night. It appears to get lots of use and proved to be a valuable asset for Santa Rosa County and Pace. Whoever put it in there, I guess the county commissioners, did a great job and I made a big mistake. This is George. Bye.

Friday 7:08 p.m.

The whole world is suffering and I just say Obama you don’t know how to do the job with Israel and the Palestinians. Israel is not listening to you. Israel only wants our money. He doesn’t care about human life. He never did. You need to stop and think really serious. You need to cut ties with Israel and money, too. This is Maria.

Friday 7:52 p.m.

Hey this is Dennis. Enough already. There needs to be a public outcry from the people that forces the liberals, democrats, and republican politicians to secure our borders. Wake up America. Our country is struggling now. We cannot support all of Central and South America also. Has all common sense been forsaken in our country?

Saturday 2:34 p.m.

I was reading in the Gazette today, Saturday, “Walking in Milton.” I think you need to check some of your historical things because a home you have, T.W. Jones, is on Henry St. but his home, that house that you showed, was built in 1914 and his house is the first house across from the railroad tracks on Henry St and it was built in 1870 by Mr. Tom Jones, but you took the wrong house picture so you need to check what you’re putting as historical in the paper. Thank you.

Editor’s note: Thank you for your comment. The photographed home I described was credited to be a T.W. Jones home on Henry Street. We will look into the matter and print a correction if needed.

Saturday 4:42 p.m.

Yeah, this is Bobby. In Saturday’s paper, after I read the Speak Out columns and saw where the guy was asking you to put addresses in for businesses, I turned it to the front page of Lifestyle and you’ve got all those old places in Milton. I know where they’re at because I’ve lived here my whole life but you didn’t put addresses on any of them. It would help. Thank you.

Editor’s note: Thank you for your comment, Bobby. We wrote in the article the homes were located on Oak and Pine Streets in downtown Milton. We just didn’t see the need to publish box numbers of the homes. We will consider doing so in the future.

Sunday 7:58 a.m.

Yeah this is Bobby. I wonder if anybody besides me ever wondered why they build streets then put manhole covers down the middle of them where they make bumps. They do it all the time. I just happened to be going to Pensacola today and up from Creighton Rd from Scenic Hwy to 9th. About every block there’s a manhole cover that just jars your car right in the middle of the road. Now I’m going up 9th Ave and it’s the same way. You‘d think they could put them on the sidewalk or down the side of the road or something instead of right in the middle of the road. Thank you.

Sunday 11:57 a.m.

It sure is interesting how the county commissioners have reconsidered starting public transportation. A good council member goes on about various sad stories about poor people in our area that don’t have transportation. The same group needed transportation when that same commission cancelled the county run busses so they could build a horse barn out there in East Milton. I wonder how well that’s doing. I’d like to see some investigative reporting going on to find out how those rich folks with horses are doing out there with their county bought horse arena and how those poor people are still walking because the county won’t fund a bus. They say the poverty rate is 41%. Why don’t we have public transportation in this county? I guess they don’t have enough of them voting. It would sure be nice to see some of them doing their job.

Sunday 1:17 p.m.

Isn’t it peculiar how developers will send their bulldozers out on a Sunday to bulldoze the Heritage Oaks and then cover them up in a pile with smaller trees on top? That’s one way to get around county ordinances since county employees do not work on Sundays.

Sunday 7:19 p.m.

I chuckled when I heard about a toilet paper manufacturer who was going to make toilet paper without the little cardboard cylinders on which the paper is usually rolled. The intent is to prevent millions of little cardboard cylinders from going into landfills. In the scheme of all things, that is so very minor. What about a whole house complete with bathroom fixtures and kitchen appliances going into the local landfills? This just boggles my mind. A ranch-style house on Woodbine Road has just been bulldozed with all the fixtures still in it and it will be hauled to the landfill. This house was bulldozed so that the developer could build a storm water retention pond for his development. Yes, mind boggling at the very least. Thank you.
