The 25th Annual Jay Peanut Festival was a success as thousands of visitors swarmed over Gabbert's Farm eating boiled peanuts and chewing on roasted corn on the cob. Children had an opportunity to ride a mechanical bull, and chase a pig or two. Farm animals were on hand to pet and admire. Gabbert's John Deere Museum tells the story of how a traditional family farm has grown over the years from simplicity to technology upgrades. The Jay Volunteer Fire Department sold out of boiled peanuts mid-day, selling over 5,500 pounds of peanuts, a record number this year.
