The presentation of the American Flag kicked off the 12th Annual Jay Pro Rodeo by 20-year-old Hayley Jeffcoh.
Proceeds of the annual event held at the Ted May Arena are designated to benefit local youth programs in the Jay community. Area youth also received a free ticket to attend the family affair. “Our hope is to provide a complimentary ticket to all students in Santa Rosa County to come to the 2015 13th Annual Jay Rodeo,” shared Frederick Barrow.
Barrow, who owns the Ted May Arena, was extremely proud of the community and Jay High School’s involvement in the event. “The Saturday night, April 26th Rodeo was the biggest crowd we have had in any single night in the 12 years of Jay rodeo,” continued Barrow. Spectators arrived from numerous communities as far as Navarre and Atmore. Barrow, who is also the pastor of the local community church Cornerstone Christian Church said, “The whole weekend was a huge success.”
The annual rodeo features riders who are involved in the TCA Rodeo circuit that are competing for prizes as well as points to advance to the nationals.
