Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Office reports a Pace homeless man was charged with aggravated assault last week after arriving at a residence waiving a gun and violating an active domestic violence injunction.
Reports said Marcus Dean Bell, 29, was knocking on the owner of a residence’s window in the middle of the night. Reports said Bell was an ex-boyfriend of the homeowner’s daughter and he was screaming and jumping around and had a gun in his hand. Deputies report the victim saying Bell seemed like he was on something because his words were not making sense. Reports said he was wearing a black glove on his right hand, which was holding the black pistol.
When the owner of the home told Bell to leave, reports said Bell became upset. The owner of the home followed Bell to his truck and retrieved the license plate number and called 911. Both home owners said they were afraid and scared Bell would try to hurt them.
Bell was taken into custody and K9 Orkon gave a positive alert for the odor of illegal narcotics. Reports said a finger of the glove was found in the driver door, and the rest of the glove was found inside a cup in the floorboard of Bell’s truck. Reports said deputies found a syringe clipped the driver side sun visor, a clear plastic wrapper with 20 white pills which were later identified as Pseudoephrine, a coffee filter with a white powder which tested positive for Methamphetamine. Bell was charged with contempt of court, aggravated assault with a weapon, possession of weapon, drugs-deliver/distribute, drug equipment-possess, and drug-possession. He is being held on $47,000 bond in the Santa Rosa County Jail.
