MiltonMardi Gras Parade sign up is now
Let the good times roll! The annual Milton Mardi Gras Parade will be held Friday, Feb. 27. The parade line-up starts at 4:30 p.m. and the parade will begin at 6 p.m. Parade entry applications are being accepted until Feb. 21.
The parade will line up on the north side of Milton High School on Raymond Hobbs Street starting at 4:30 p.m. Entries must be in line by 5:30 p.m. The parade starts at 6 p.m., travels south on Stewart Street and turns west on Elva Street, ending behind Regions Bank.
Parade entry fees are $20 for businesses and non-profits, and free for school groups and Main Street Milton sponsors.

East MiltonYouth Association
East Milton Youth Association is currently taking registration for Baseball, Tee ball, and Softball for the spring season. Sign ups will be every Saturday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the East Milton Boardroom. Sign ups will go until the end of February. We are located at 8600 Bobby Brown Rd, Milton. MiltonCemeteryat Scratch Ankle
The public is invited to visit the Milton Cemetery booth at the local Scratch Ankle event, March 14, held on North Willing Street in downtown Milton, from 4:00 p.m. to 10 p.m. Bill Bledsoe, cemetery manager, said the purpose is to raise money for the maintenance of the historical burial ground. There will be pictures on display, a brochure, and a popular “Mayeaux-created” basket to be raffled off, plus two afghans created by Board member Mrs. Raffaele. Pre-event raffle tickets are now available: $1.00 per, or six for $5.00. Call 686-1122 to purchase now, or mail your order to the address given below. Bledsoe hopes the booth will bring in the needed money to replace the broken plaque on the front of the bronze Warrior monument. To cast it in bronze, Sculptor Roxie Platt has offered to donate her services for casting.

Pace Fire and Rescue conducting annual picture fund drive
The Pace Fire and Rescue District is conducting their annual Picture Fund Drive for 2014. The proceeds will go toward their local benevolent fund which helps citizens and businesses in the Pace area that are displaced. To achieve this goal, Chief Wadkins asks for every household within the Pace Fire/Rescue area to support this effort.
The drive will continue through June 1.
Pace Water System 49th Annual Meeting of Members
Pace Water System will hold it's annual meeting on February 27 at 6 p.m. in the Pace Water System board room at 4401 Woodbine Road in Pace. Refreshments will be served and door prizes awarded. For more information, contact Damon Boutwell, general manager at 994-5129.
IHOP National Pancake Day to Benefit Children’s Hospital
Local International House of Pancakes (IHOP) restaurants are hosting National Pancake Day on Tuesday, March. 4, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Free short stacks of buttermilk pancakes will be served, and IHOP guests are invited to make a voluntary donation to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. All proceeds from the event will benefit the sick and injured children at Children’s Hospital at Sacred Heart, Northwest Florida’s only dedicated children’s hospital.

Scholarship for Seniors
The Pensacola Heritage Foundation is offering a 2014 scholarship in the amount of $1,000 to a graduating senior from Escambia/Santa Rosa County. The winner must be graduating as a senior in a local high school and enrolling as a freshman in college in the fall, 2014. Students will write an essay not to exceed 1,000 words on either Pensacola’s local heritage, or on Bernardo de Galvez. The completed application must be received by Pensacola Heritage Foundation, P.O. Box 12424, Pensacola, FL 32591, on or before April 1, 2014. Students can access information on website pensacolaheritage.org or from their high school senior counselor for more information.
PensacolaOpera and Pensacola Museum of Art to host Cinderella Gallery Talk
Pensacola, FL- On Sunday, March 16 at 3:00 p.m., Pensacola Opera and the Pensacola Museum of Art will host a Gallery Talk for the upcoming production of Cinderella. This lecture will include presentations by an Art Historian and Pensacola Opera’s Director of Education, Amanda Cook, as they discuss the relationship between visual art and music during the time period in which Cinderella takes place. This event will also feature performances by our 2014 Artists in Residence from the upcoming production of Cinderella. Held at the Pensacola Museum of Art, this event is free and open to the public. Reservations are not required.
