MILTON — On Sept. 28, St Rose of Lima Catholic Church will kick off their 37th Annual International Fall Festival, held on the church grounds located at 6451 Park Avenue. Festival hours are: 4-9p.m. Sept. 28, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sept. 29 and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 30. Admission is free and open to the public
The festival celebrates the diversity in the community as well as in the parish. There will be colorfully decorated booths featuring foods from Polish, Italian, Cajun, Hispanic, American and Filipino cultures. Carnival foods will be available including funnel cakes, fried Oreos, ice cream, and snow cones. Also available are freshly baked goods with a good cup of coffee!
Festival favorites include the 8 a.m. 5K run/walk on Saturday morning, indoor bingo for the adults, arts and crafts booths, a plant booth, and games and entertainment for all ages. There will be live local entertainment all weekend. A highlight is the McGuire’s Pipe band scheduled for Sunday.
Proceeds from the event go toward property improvements as well as helping local charities such as Family Promise, the Pregnancy Resource Center of Milton, Catholic Charities, Bridges Out of Poverty, local scout troops, the Family Resource Center of Milton, along with partnering with Feeding the Gulf Coast to provide food on a daily basis to locals in need.
St. Rose Lima Catholic Church is a parish of The Roman Catholic Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee. The church serves over 1,100 families and are active in the community.
