Music can be a vital part of a morning routine. When the routine changes, it can be confusing. On Monday, Cumulus Media announced the launch of NASH FM 102.7, changing the line up and style of the radio formerly known as Your Country 102.7 WXBM. The change will take place on Friday.
Although the style will be turned a bit toward "Nashville" than Milton, the personalities will be staying the same, according to VP/Market Manager for Cumulus Media Hugh McPherson. He says Marty and Lindsey, formerly of the morning show is moving to the 3 to 7 p.m. drive home. Lynn West will be 9 a.m. until noon and Ryan Andrews will be noon to 3 p.m.
"The station isn't really changing," says McPherson, "we've just moved the personalities around a bit."
Cumulus Media's statement says they launched the NASH entertainment brand based o the Country music lifestyle in January, 2013 with the flagship NASH FM 94.7 in New York City. In addition to country radio stations, the NASH brand will include a NASH magazine, concerts and events, online content and television programming.
The new morning show, says McPherson, called American Morning Show, out of Nashville, will feature big names on the air.
"Nashville is one of the hottest cities to live in. Country music isn't what it used to be 20 or 30 years ago. The music is very contemporary and it has a broader appeal," says McPherson.
The new entry into the format continues the conversion of all 67 Cumulus-owned Country stations to the NASH brand. Stations "Powered by NASH" feature exclusive programming content including "Kickin' It with Kix," hosted by Kix Brooks, "NASH Nights Live" with Shawn Parr and "American Country Countdown." McPherson says faithful listeners and advertisers will continue to benefit from the same great country music, variety of on-air and off
