Pensacola State College invites area high school actors to show off their talent by auditioning for the 2014 Summer High School Onstage Workshop (SHOW) production of “Big: The Musical.”
SHOW is open to students who will be in grades 9-12 in the 2014-2015 school year, as well as May graduates.
Auditions for the musical are 8 a.m. until noon, Monday and Tuesday, June 9-10, at the Ashmore Fine Arts Auditorium, Building 8, on the Pensacola campus.
Auditions include singing and dancing. Students should bring sheet music or a background tape and wear comfortable clothing and shoes.
“Big: The Musical” is a lighthearted adaptation of the blockbuster movie “Big,” starring Tom Hanks. It is the witty – yet touching – story of 12-year-old Josh Baskin, who grows up overnight after being granted a wish by a an arcade machine at a carnival. With the aid of his best friend, Josh must cope with his new adulthood while finding another arcade machine so that he can wish himself back to a kid again.
“Big: The Musical” runs July 25-27 and Aug. 1-3 at the Ashmore Fine Arts Auditorium.
