Deputies: Family eviction turns bloody; 2 arrested

An eviction turned bloody when a woman and her boyfriend returned to an apartment, allegedly trashing the place and were caught in the act, according to a Santa Rosa Sheriff's Office report.

Deputies say Kristi Spears, 43, was living in an apartment with her mother in the 4200 block of Highway 90 in Pace. Her boyfriend, 42-year-old Robert Aaron, was also living in the residence.

Spears' mother told authorities she had been having issues with the two and evicted them from the residence. The daughter began arguing and yelling at her mother, according to the report.

Spears pushed her mother in the chest several times and then attempted to strike her in the face with a fist, according to officials. She managed to move just in time and dodged the punch.

Spears declared that she and her boyfriend would not have to be evicted, claiming they would leave voluntarily. The two gathered their belongings and left the apartment.

After the two left, the mother cleaned up the apartment. She told authorities she left after cleaning, returning to find Spears and Aaron inside the residence. The mother said the place had been trashed and there was a broken window smeared with blood. Blood was reportedly everywhere in the apartment. She then contacted the Santa Rosa Sheriff's Office.

Spears told deputies she and Aaron entered the apartment and were trespassing. Deputies noted in their report that Spears had several cuts on her fingers and forearms. Her pants and feet were also covered in blood. Aaron told authorities his girlfriend had been fighting with her mother earlier that evening.

Deputies arrested Spears and charged her with battery, burglary and criminal mischief. She was given no bond pending the first court appearance because of the domestic nature of the incident.

Aaron was charged with criminal mischief and burglary. He has been released from jail on a $26,000 bond.
