Four crashes in four days have left one man dead, three in serious condition and five with minor injuries.
The most serious involved Steven Michael Cobbett, 57, who died at the scene of the one-vehicle accident last Saturday on Red Rock Road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Reports say Cobbett was driving a 2011 Harley Davidson motorcycle west on Red Rock Road – located off Munson Hwy. and Spring Hill Road. He came upon a curve and went onto the left shoulder, losing control of the bike, according to FHP.
The Harley slid onto its right side in the ditch.
The FHP says Cobbett died at the scene.
Reports say he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Results from alcohol tests are pending.
On Friday, two Milton men were seriously injured on Interstate 10 at Avalon Blvd., according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The accident happened when one driver, Ronald E. Rogers, 34, who was stopped on the side of the interstate, attempted to pull back onto the road. Reports say he pulled his 1999 Chevrolet SUV into the path of a 2010 Chevrolet sedan driven by Gary K. Gunter, 40.
Gunter attempted to miss Roger's vehicle, but was unable to avoid a collision. The vehicles received $13,000 in damage, combined. Rogers was taken to Santa Rosa Medical Center; Gunter went to West Florida Hospital.
Sunday night, five teenagers escaped serious injury in a rollover accident near Chumuckla.
Reports say the driver, Brynna Dawn Miller, 16, Pensacola Beach, was driving a 1999 Ford Explorer north on Gin Road – a clay and dirt road. Miller allegedly ran the vehicle off the left side of Gin Rd., over-corrected causing the vehicle to go into the ditch on the right side of the road.
The van rolled partially onto its right side. All five occupants of the vehicle were taken to the Santa Rosa Medical Center with minor injuries.
The occupants of the vehicle were: Kayla Henry, 17; Carly D. McCraney, 17; Christian Sky Vaughn, 19; and Hannah Michelle McKinley, 16, all of them Pace residents.
The final accident happened Monday morning around 7:40 on Interstate 10, near the Avalon Blvd. exit. Two vehicles were traveling west on I-10 and came upon a vehicle crash. The front vehicle, a 2012 Toyota four-door driven by Michael E. Oldham, 51, Milton, stopped for traffic. The vehicle behind him, a 2013 Hyundai four-door driven by Annette M. Doremus, 46, of Milton, did not stop and struck the back of the Toyota.
Reports say there was $1,000 damage to each vehicle. Oldman was transported to Santa Rosa Medical Center with serious injuries.
