Within the past two weeks, the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office has received several calls reporting home burglaries. We are looking to the public for assistance.
Earlier this month, we started to receive calls involving burglaries to residential homes. These were primarily in the Pace area of our County. During these events, forced entry was made into the homes by breaking windows and or doors.
The burglaries were primarily committed during daylight hours, while residents were at work. Items taken ranged from jewelry, guns, and electronics to wrapped Christmas presents.
We are working upwards of 12 cases at this time, although some may be unrelated to this specific group.
We have allotted more manpower to the affected areas by utilizing additional patrols and specialized units. Detectives are also working on several leads at this time.
Since these burglaries are during the day, we are asking citizens to be more observant to their surroundings. If anyone observes suspicious activity, they are urged to call the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office or Crime Stoppers (437-STOP) immediately.
