Thursday 12:28 a.m. I beg to differ with Deacon Raymond Johns on what he wrote. I think that the people that are concerned with guns are more concerned perhaps for their freedom. I wish he would go back and read some of the elementary history and try to understand what guns did in the early colonist period. They were required to wear guns. What happened in Germany when all the guns were taken from everyone. Six million Jews were killed. Had they had all their guns perhaps this wouldn't have happened. It's like Ms. Holley said in her letter this week. You give them an inch and they'll take a mile. We have to fight for our rights and I think it's worth it to save the children. I think it's a parents responsibility to know where their children are at all times. Children are given to us as gifts, not just to put out on the street to do as they please. I think if the deacon would go back and try to understand his history, the Second Amendment was not for the purpose of a hunting license, it was for the purpose to protect ourselves against those that might try to harm us. None of us will be happy unless we have the freedom to create and be who we are. So I think the deacon has a lot of nice things to say but he certainly doesn't understand the Second Amendment nor does he understand the past. If he were to go back and read the history and really get into it he would understand that we all need our rights. We don't need to be controlled. We don't need everything manufactured. When I go into a restaurant I want to choose what I want to choose. We see these things disappearing already in New York we have the mayor telling people what they can and can not eat or drink. When I go in a restaurant I want to be able to choose what I want. I don't want to sit down and take what they got. Thank you.
Thursday 12:48 a.m. In regard to the Deacon Johns article, I would like to be able have a gun that would take care of a gang if they came into my home and tried to rape me or hurt me in any way. If they came into my home and they were all drugged, from what I could understand if someone is drugged it's hard to make him stop trying to harm you. It takes a lot of bullets to harm a person that's trying to harm an individual. There's a great reasons to have a gun that you could protect yourself with. I do not believe I could vomit on command, I do not believe I could blow a whistle without having one around my neck. I believe that at any time we could all be harmed in any way, not only a woman, a child or anybody else. I believe history will reflect when a nation has a gun, that we don't have to worry about our government overtaking us. We need to understand that guns are not for hunting they're for other reasons and those who don't understand those reasons need to get back to their history. Thank you.
Thursday 8:50 a.m. Yes my name is Sue, I was just reading in the opinions section in Wednesday's paper about some person complaining about fire trucks parked over by Cisco's in Milton. I live in Pace and I'm over that way two or three times a week to volunteer and I have yet to see a fire truck outside Cisco's. What is this guy talking about, anyway? I was thinking, where are they parked? In some alternate universe? Anyway, I have yet to see what this person is talking about and me thinks someone needs to get a life. Thank you. Thursday 9:35 a.m. Yea this is Bobby, I don't remember reading anything about this, but I just came through town and you know they always got the prisoners there working on the streets and today they were sweeping the bridge and I don't know if they thank them or not but they do a fine job and the city or county or something should be making sure they are recognized because they do a good job.
