Santa Rosa Sheriff's deputies were recently put to the test on the department's gun range and obstacle course.
The annual training brought certified deputies out on a rare warm March day to test their accuracy – and stamina. Anyone who carries a gun for the department has to qualify using the gun or guns they carry on-duty.
In addition, a timed obstacle course includes going over walls, balancing on a beam, dragging a 150- pound weight, completing an armed door entry and other challenges.
